Since Greendale Living acquired the land we have been working closely with not only the Planning authorities but also with the environmental and ecological agencies as Kerswell is home to several protected species. We have many different bats including The Common Pipistrelle, Brown long eared, Horse shoe and Natterers bat as well as a family of Barn Owls. When we arrived on site there were two barn owls, and over the breeding season we have managed to protect them and their nesting grounds and we are now proud to say we have four barn owls. We have finished re-roofing the barns and installing bat boxes as well as loft spaces to ensure that the bats and barn owls can continue their roosting as normal. All the required licences have been fulfilled therefore we will be ready to commence the construction works in 2018.
Our development is in its own grounds within working farmland, with far reaching views of the Devon countryside our Kerswell Barton development will consist of 2, 3, and 4 bedroomed barn conversions and one exceptional 4-bed house.
What’s on in Exeter
The nearby city of Exeter provides a great vibrant and cultural scene, and also benefits from growing popular sporting success, thanks to the cities Rugby team, the Exeter Chiefs who are currently glowing in glory, having won the Aviva Premiership last year they are now sitting top of the league table again. Two of the team players switched on Exeter’s Christmas lights earlier this month gathering huge crowds. This annual attraction basks the city in beautiful light, which, combined with the very popular Christmas Market on the Cathedral Green, which is full of trade stands selling Christmas gifts, delicious food and mulled wine to be sipped whilst enjoying the performers on the bandstand makes Exeter a great place to visit this December.
